No matter who you are--what kind of grades you get, how much money you have, how popular, or athletic or attractive you are--one young person can make an incredible difference in the life of a child in need.
Starting a Sparrow Club is simple and very rewarding--but it does require dedication and effort on your part! The first step is to explain your interest to a teacher or school administrator about your idea and show them the Sparrow Clubs USA website or information. Your school should also have a student council or student body leaders, officers or representatives (associated student body/ASB president, etc) who can also assist you in starting a new Sparrow Club at your school.
Because of our community service emphasis, Sparrow Club can also be a service project that operates under an existing school club, activity or class. In high schools, junior high and middle schools Sparrow Clubs can function under the Leadership Class, Honor Society, Beta Club, etc. Sometimes sports teams will do a Sparrow Project to adopt a child. Sparrow Clubs have even become elective classes!
